Aciclovir Cream 5% is a trusted topical antiviral formulated to treat herpes simplex infections affecting the lips, face, and genital area. Supplied in a 10g tube, this cream contains 5% acyclovir—an effective antiviral agent that helps stop the virus from multiplying.

It is commonly used for cold sores (HSV-1), initial genital herpes episodes (HSV-2), and recurrent outbreaks. When applied at the earliest signs—such as tingling or itching—it can significantly shorten healing time and reduce discomfort.

This cream is for external skin use only.

Mechanism of Action
Acyclovir inhibits viral DNA replication by targeting herpesvirus DNA polymerase. This prevents the virus from multiplying within skin cells, reducing severity and duration of symptoms.

Dosage & Administration

Form: Topical cream
Strength: 5% (50mg acyclovir per gram)
Tube Size: 10g

General directions:

Apply thinly to the affected area five times daily, approximately every 4 hours
Treatment duration: Usually 4 days, or as directed by your doctor
Start application as soon as symptoms appear (tingling, itching, redness)
For external use only—avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and inside of the nose

Wash hands before and after application.
